Podcast #40 – Tings Chak on the development and contradictions of China

We talked with Tings Chak, internationalist activist, writer, and artist about the development of China, especially the eleviation of poverty. She is the co-founding editor of ⁠“Dongsheng News“⁠, a collective of international researchers interested in Chinese politics and society. We asked her why China is not just another rising capitalist country and about the role of China in the fight for national liberation and sovereignty in the global South. We also talked about the contradictions linked with the politic of opening and reform.

Palästina und die DDR – Befreiungskampf als Staatsräson?

Während in der BRD die bedingungslose Unterstützung Israels als „Ersatz- Antifaschismus" spätestens ab 1952 zunehmend zur „Staatsräson" wurde, erkannten sich die DDR und Israel bis zur Konterrevolution 1989/90 nicht gegenseitig an. Stattdessen wurde die DDR zu einem wichtigen Alliierten der palästinensischen Befreiungsbewegung.
