Podcast #43 – On the uprising of Kenyas youth against IMF-Rule

On 3rd of July we talked with Mwaivu Kaluka about the massive protests which arose in Kenya on 18th of June. They have been met with extreme police violence. The protesters are targeting the fiscal policies of the government but as Mwaivu points out the protesters are also targeting neocolonial institutions and policies. We talked about tasks within this movement and prospects for building an alternative to the compradore rule.

Mwaivu Kaluka is the National Chairperson of the Young Communist League (YCL), the youth wing of the Communist Party of Kenya. YCL is a mass organization aiming at bringing the advanced elements of the working class and peasants youth into organising together for the struggle for socialism.

Palästina und die DDR – Befreiungskampf als Staatsräson?

Während in der BRD die bedingungslose Unterstützung Israels als „Ersatz- Antifaschismus" spätestens ab 1952 zunehmend zur „Staatsräson" wurde, erkannten sich die DDR und Israel bis zur Konterrevolution 1989/90 nicht gegenseitig an. Stattdessen wurde die DDR zu einem wichtigen Alliierten der palästinensischen Befreiungsbewegung.
