Iran is defending West Asia against imperialism!
It has happened again: once again, the leading power of world imperialism, the US, has invaded a sovereign state. Once again, the Zionist regime has launched an attack on a country in the region. Once again, we are seeing images of schools destroyed by US-Zionist bombs and children torn to pieces. Once again, Berlin, Paris, London, and Brussels are silent about Washington and Tel Aviv’s war of aggression, which violates international law, and are supporting it—more or less—openly.
The imperialists want war!
Preparations for this war have been underway for months: open threats, attempts at regime change, propaganda about alleged massacres by the government of its own people, and the EU’s classification of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps as a “terrorist organization.”
Above all, however, it was clear to everyone how strong the interest of the US and Israel in this war is:
The Islamic Republic of Iran is the biggest obstacle for the West in the region. It has built up an axis of resistance that has been an important counterforce to imperialism for years and has, not least, given the Palestinian resistance its power. Eliminating this axis is the central prerequisite for enforcing Western hegemony in the Middle East.
The US plan to destroy the Iranian state would have fatal consequences for all the peoples of West Asia: the Iranian peoples face the threat of a genocidal air war, occupation, civil wars, Balkanization, and permanent neocolonial oppression. The Palestinian liberation movement would suffer a severe, perhaps even fatal blow with the loss of its only reliable protective power. Not only all of Palestine, but also the Arab states would be more vulnerable to Zionist expansionism than ever before.
Furthermore, the destruction of the Islamic Republic would pose a great danger to China and Russia. For the US, the invasion of Iran is not least a concrete preparation for war against the People’s Republic and a further blow against the Russian Federation.
Solidarity with the Iranian people is now necessary. The Iranian state, with its military and economic potential, is the only existing form of organization capable of defending against imperialist aggression. In this form, the Iranian people are fighting for freedom and, right now, for the defense of their very existence.
Tehran has the right to defend itself!
This is already the second war of aggression against Iran in less than twelve months and the latest escalation in a long history of Western terror and aggression against the Islamic Republic since 1979. But even in the decades before that, the country was repeatedly the victim of Western attacks on its sovereignty: 100 years ago, Iran was a semi-colony, and its people fought their way out of this situation with great effort and heroism. Now it is once again facing the colonial abyss.
Iran itself has not started a war against another country for 200 years. At the same time, the Islamic Republic has responded with the utmost restraint to Western aggression—bomb and missile attacks, assassinations of politicians and scientists, financing of terrorist groups and separatists, mass murderous sanctions, hijacking of cargo ships, the war of aggression in June 2025.
Iran’s combination of demonstrative strength and excessive patience in negotiations and willingness to compromise is typical of inferior, dependent states threatened by imperialism. It underscores the fact that Iran has no interest in war, that Iran is fighting an anti-colonial battle for survival, and that the Republic’s leadership is demonstrating a high sense of responsibility.
This is admirable and wise—and, in the face of imperialist madness that threatens to plunge the entire region into chaos, also necessary. But it does not change the fact that Iran has the right to defend itself against imperialist terror and colonial war by all means. As with the attacks launched by Israel over the past two years, Iran will only be able to prevail if it responds to the aggressors‘ violence with justified force. It has the right to do so, regardless of what imperialist propaganda may claim. The same applies to Tehran’s allies in the region.
According to international law, all states have not only the right but also the duty to stop aggression. But that is a pipe dream. Therefore, Western terrorism can only be stopped by the unity of the resistance forces. These include, above all, the actors in the region and those states that oppose imperialism, but also the Palestine solidarity and peace movements in the West.
Hands off Iran – stop the colonial war!
Solidarity with the Islamic Republic!
Down with imperialism – long live the resistance of the peoples!
