Imperialism and Political Tension in the Caribbean Basin

With Alejandro Cifuentes, director of the theoretical journal of the Communist Party of Colombia, we will discuss the general strategy of the U.S. in Latin America, talk about drug trafficking and its connection to armed conflicts in the region, exchange views on the communists’ perspective on the situation in Colombia and Venezuela, and debate the character of the Petro government.

Mit Alejandro Cifuentes, dem Chefredakteur des Theorieorgans der Kommunistischen Partei Kolumbiens, werden wir über die allgemeine Strategie der USA in Lateinamerika diskutieren, über den Drogenhandel und dessen Zusammenhang mit bewaffneten Konflikten in der Region sprechen, uns über die Sichtweise der Kommunisten auf die Lage in Kolumbien und Venezuela austauschen und über den Charakter der Petro-Regierung diskutieren.

Die Veranstaltung findet auf Englisch statt, wir organisieren auf Anfrage aber eine deutsche Flüsterübersetzung.
