Vor wenigen Tagen hat die zum Land Berlin gehörende Berliner Sparkasse die Konten des Vereins Jüdische Stimme für gerechten Frieden in Nahost eingefroren. Hintergrund dieser Repressionsmaßnahme ist der in zwei Wochen stattfindende Palästina-Kongress in Berlin. Die Jüdische Stimme, die sich schon lange für einen souveränen Staat Palästina engagiert, hat in Solidarität mit dem Palästina-Kongress ihr Bankkonto für den Empfang von Spenden zur Verfügung gestellt. Das Land Berlin hat diese Gelder nun eingefroren und prüft darüber hinaus ein mögliches Verbot für die Durchführung des Kongresses. Begleitet wird dies durch eine Hetzkampagne in den Medien, die versucht, den Kongress als `antisemitischen Hassgipfel` zu diffamieren. Es ist offensichtlich, dass dieses Vorgehen des Staates ein weiterer Versuch ist, die Palästina-Bewegung in Deutschland mundtot zu machen. Die Jüdische Stimme hat bereits angekündigt, sich dadurch nicht einschüchtern zu lassen und wir möchten ihr hiermit unsere volle Unterstützung und Solidarität ausdrücken.
Die Repression gegen die Jüdische Stimme entlarvt einmal mehr die in Deutschland herrschende Heuchelei: Die sogenannte deutsche Staatsräson besagt, Juden und Jüdinnen weltweit durch das Existenzrechts Israels vor Antisemitismus schützen zu wollen und verkleidet die deutschen Eigeninteressen in der Region so im Mantel der `Vergangenheitsbewältigung`. Es soll der Eindruck erweckt werden, Deutschland habe seine faschistische und verbrecherische Vergangenheit überwunden – das Gegenteil ist der Fall. Diese deutsche Staatsräson unterscheidet nicht zwischen Judentum und Zionismus, der ideologischen Grundlage des siedlerkolonialistischen Apartheidsstaates Israels, und wird somit selbst antisemitisch. Alle, die sich gegen die deutsche Unterstützung für Israel und dessen Genozid in Gaza stellen, stören und werden dementsprechend harten Repressionen ausgesetzt. So auch die Jüdische Stimme, die schon lange gegen die israelische Besatzung Palästinas und den Völkermord in Gaza im Namen von Juden und Jüdinnen kämpft.

Declaration of solidarity with the Jewish Voice for a Just Peace in the Middle East!
A few days ago, the Berliner Sparkasse, which belongs to the state of Berlin, froze the accounts of the association Jewish Voice for a Just Peace in the Middle East. The background to this repressive measure is the Palestine Congress taking place in Berlin in two weeks’ time. The Jewish Voice, which has long been committed to a sovereign state of Palestine, has made its bank account available for the receipt of donations in solidarity with the Palestine Congress. The state of Berlin has now frozen these funds and is also considering a possible ban on holding the congress. This is accompanied by a smear campaign in the media that attempts to defame the congress as an ‘anti-Semitic hate summit’. It is obvious that this action by the state is a further attempt to silence the Palestine movement in Germany. The Jewish Voice has already announced that it will not be intimidated by this and we would like to express our full support and solidarity.
The repression against the Jewish Voice once again exposes the hypocrisy prevailing in Germany: the so-called German reason of state („Staatsräson“) says that it wants to protect Jews worldwide from anti-Semitism through Israel’s right to exist and thus disguises German self-interest in the region in the cloak of ‘coming to terms with the past’. The impression is to be created that Germany has overcome its fascist and criminal past – the opposite is the case. This German reason of state does not differentiate between Judaism and Zionism, the ideological basis of the settler-colonialist apartheid state of Israel, and thus itself becomes anti-Semitic. All those who oppose German support for Israel and its genocide in Gaza cause a disturbance and are subjected to correspondingly harsh repression. This includes the Jewish Voice, which has long campaigned against the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the genocide in Gaza in the name of Jews.
